Jud Caswell will be featured at 6 p.m Saturday, July 24, at Waterfront Park, 61 Commercial St. in Bath.
Main Street Bath with the Chocolate Church Arts Center has organized the free concerts in some of the most picturesque locations downtown.

Maine singer/songwriter Caswell, who plays guitar, banjo, and many other instruments, has a keen eye for detail, a head full of far-away, and a heart full of home. In 2006, he burst on the national scene, winning the legendary Kerrville New Folk competition. His songs have been taught at Berklee, recorded by Judy Collins, and named “#4 Song of the Decade” by New York’s WFUV.

Though a full-time music career almost drew Caswell away from his home state, the singer decided to stay in Maine, stating, “A singer-songwriter does one thing, night after night, in a thousand places. I wanted to be in one place. I figured it was time to go home and do a thousand things,” according to a news release from the center.

Every Saturday night in July and August, people can park their lawn chair on the banks of the Kennebec River. The stage will come alive with the curated mix of artists, with everything from rock, to blues, indy and folk.

The City Park’s Gazebo, up at the Patten Free Library, 890 Washington St., is full of swing band, brass band or choral groups on Tuesdays and Fridays through the summer. Bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket and enjoy relaxing next to the Zorach Fountain as the melodies drift through the trees.
