To the Editor:

If the plan is to relocate homeless people into rural/regional housing, rather than sending the homeless from Maine’s cities into rural areas for state or federal housing, it might be beneficial to Maine communities if urban homeless are disbursed by families only ― one at a time.  This way both community and a particular family will each better acclimate to and for a rural communal relationship.

If urban homeless came into a rural community in a group they would draw closer together as outsiders, and the community would draw closer together with them. Conflict might be avoided this way.

Please help our communities, and help the rural homeless.
