FARMINGTON – Cleon R. Cook Jr., 86, a longtime resident of Livermore passed away Tuesday, July 19th at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. He was born August 1, 1934 in Jay, the son of Cleon R. Cook, Sr. and Vianah E. (Walker) Cook. He was a 1952 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He proudly served from 1955 to 1957 in the U.S. Army in Korea and the U.S. Army Reserves retiring on August 1, 1994. Cleon worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Livermore Falls until his retirement, he served as an EMTI for Community Emergency Services (CES) for over 20 years. He later worked for Finley Funeral Home for several years until retiring in 2020. In August of 1955 at the Eaton Memorial Methodist Church in Livermore Falls, he married C. Elizabeth Botka of Livermore. He was a former member of the Eaton Memorial Methodist Church, current member of the Wayne Community Church and the Frank L. Mitchell V.F.W. Post #3335 in Jay. Cleon had a great passion for woodworking and enjoyed telling about his many projects he completed. He is survived by his wife C. Elizabeth Cook of Livermore, daughters, Elaine M. Knox and husband James of Wilton and Ellen Desroshes and husband Steve of Groton, VT., and son Michael A. Cook and wife Kathryn of Livermore, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, his brother Bernal Cook and wife Carleen of Westbrook, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Eloise Roy, and Virginia Raymond and his brother Boyd Cook.
