Donna DeCoster Crockett

LEWISTON – Donna DeCoster Crockett, 75, passed away Thursday July 8, 2021, in Lewiston. She was born Jan. 31, 1946, in Rumford, the daughter of Donald and Mildred (Bonney) DeCoster.

Donna loved her family, friends, children and grandchildren, and was always surrounded by them. While raising her two children, Bonnie and Scot, she also babysat many children in her informal daycare. Once her kids were older, she proved to be a jack of all trades but above all she was a mother. Just to name a few, she made a go in the construction trade, worked as a caretaker at a campground, worked at a local pizza shop and worked greater than 20 years for Community Concepts, eventually retiring from there.

Retirement proved to be a joyful time for her. She cherished her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She especially enjoyed making memories with her grandkids. They baked, they did puzzles, crafts and went to the movies. They had many an adventure while camping and swimming and just going out for a hike and some ice cream.

She enjoyed traveling and made her way to a number of states and even Mexico with her family. She also had the pleasure of going on a cross country trip to the Grand Canyon with her best friend, Sue. Spending countless hours in her garden also brought her tremendous joy, and she loved showing it off to those who would stop by.

She is survived by two children Bonnie Honaker and Scot Crockett and his wife, Jackie Crockett; three grandchildren Ethan, Jared, and Carmen; a brother Lester DeCoster and his wife Barbara DeCoster; and four generations of nieces and nephews along with many loved ones from the Crockett family. She also leaves behind an abundance of great friends and chosen family.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, three sisters Cora Dunn, Lilla Perry, and June Perry, and her infant grandson Daniel Benjamin.

A graveside service will be held August 1 at 2 p.m. at the Buckfield Village (Damon) Cemetery in North Buckfield followed by a celebration of life at the Masonic Hall in Buckfield.

Arrangements are with Chandler Funeral Home in South Paris.
