Gary C. Lajoie

LEEDS – On July 10, 2021, Gary Christien Lajoie passed away unexpectedly at 67, leaving many loved ones behind.

Gary was born in Lewiston Jan. 28, 1954. Gary was a successful business owner as well as a retired SSG E6 in the Maine Army National Guards.

Gary served active duty from August, 1972 to August, 1975 and enlisted in the Maine Army National Guard on August 20, 1979 until his retirement on May 5, 2003.

Gary leaves behind his son, Royce, partner, Audrey, three grandsons, Chandler, Mason, and Colby, two granddaughters, Lydia and Briar, as well as Chandler’s son, Halsey, Gary’s great-grandson; and daughter, Hanna Jean, partner Rudy and oldest granddaughter, Jordyn.

Gary also leaves behind his younger brother, Brian Lajoie and his (kids mother) lifelong friend, Patricia Concepcion.

He was predeceased by his father, Christien Joseph Lajoie and mother, Jeannine C. Monier.

Gary’s children and grandchildren were his life. Gary enjoyed working with his son by his side every day and tinkering with John Deere tractors with his daughter. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Gary was a man of great knowledge. He was a caring, loving man. A man that was proud to serve his country and would do it again and again.

Our father “Papa” will be missed by so many.

Visitation Fortin Auburn, Thursday August 5, from 9 to 11 a.m., funeral at the funeral home at 11 a.m., followed by Committal with military honors at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta at 1 p.m., Arrangements are under the direction of The Fortin group Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services, 217 Turner St., Auburn 783-8545.
