JAY — The town’s finance director is retiring from her position Aug. 27 after 24 years on the job.

The Select Board accepted Lisa Bryant’s resignation following an executive session on Monday with “regret and appreciation,” Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere said Monday.

“We will be looking to hire for her position very soon,” LaFreniere said, adding she’s drafting an ad for the position of finance director, human resources and treasurer on Tuesday.

“I have enjoyed working for the community. I have appreciated the fact we have an awesome team,” Bryant said. She also mentioned that Jay is in “great financial shape.”

“We are very lucky in Jay to have a team working for the community,” she said.

In other business, the board also approved the Fire Rescue Department’s request to let Franklin County dispatchers know that they only want to be called out for emergency medical services when NorthStar EMS request them to do so because of lack of staff.
