Laurianne T. Castonguay

AUBURN – Laurianne T. Castonguay, 85, a resident of Canton, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at The Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born May 9, 1936, one of 12 children to George and Bertha (Moreau) Castonguay. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Laurianne loved St. Rose, and was very active by being a Eucharistic Minister, member of the choir, Daughters of Isabella and involved herself in many functions.

She attended Wyman School in Canton and graduated from Riverside School in Livermore. She worked on the family farm for many years which included working for her brother, Romeo, raising broilers. She worked at Livermore Shoe Shop and Bass Shoe Shop in Wilton until she retired in 1998.

She is survived by her brother, Francis Castonguay, Livermore, three sisters, Connie St. Pierre, Jay, Maryette Castonguay and Elaine Castonguay, Canton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters, a baby girl, Bernadette Castonguay, Jane St. Pierre, Annette St. Pierre, brothers, Romeo Castonguay, Andre Castonguay and Bertrand Castonguay; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday August 5, at St. Rose of Lina Church, Main Street, Jay. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4 at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls. Daughters of Isabella will meet Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park St., Livermore Falls.
