BUCKFIELD — The Select Board announced Tuesday that absentee ballots for the Sept. 28 town meeting will be available Aug. 30.
A public hearing on the municipal budget will be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 28 on the second floor of the Town Office.
Electronic voting machines won’t be used for the town meeting because they’re due to be returned that day.
Also Tuesday, selectmen decided to proceed with a three-year extension of the town’s contract to provide firefighting services to neighboring Hartford. Buckfield selectmen held a workshop Monday evening with Hartford officials to talk about the contract.
Also, the board:
• approved a municipal quitclaim deed for property at 528 Turner St.
• announced $768 from workers’ compensation and a $482 rebate from Kyes Insurance Agency.
• approved payroll warrants and accounts payable.
