MANCHESTER — Designing Women is scheduled to hold its 14th annual juried fine art and craft show from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Longfellow’s Greenhouses at 81 Puddledock Road.
Nineteen artisans will celebrate the end of summer with a show to help support Winthrop’s Sexual Assault Crisis and Support Center. The show will feature handcrafted jewelry, intricate weaving, pottery, clothing, handmade soaps and body care, and more.
The suggested $2 door donation and all lunch/refreshment proceeds will be collected and utilized by Winthrop’s Sexual Assault Crisis and Support Center.

Designing Women is a nonprofit volunteer organization that celebrates female artisans and supports other local nonprofits, who in turn help women and families. It was established by female artisans from New England in 1991 to bridge art and the community by sponsoring shows that benefit local nonprofit services that support women and families.
Providing free and confidential services to Kennebec, Somerset, Knox and Waldo counties for more than 25 years, the Sexual Assault Crisis and Support Center is a nonprofit corporation based in Winthrop. Services include working to lessen the trauma-related suffering of sexual assault and to promote healing by guiding those affected by sexual violence toward survival through support, advocacy, education and community collaboration.
