I am grateful for our military and the safety provided for our nation in this troubled world. Recent events lead me to question the ability of the Pentagon.

For two decades generals reported progress in the building of a national government and arm in Afghanistan. All those efforts were destroyed by the Taliban in a month’s time.

In May the Pentagon appointed a committee to plan our evacuation from Afghanistan. The effort to leave is judged a failure of the Biden administration.

Four administrations have listened to the advice of the Pentagon as our troops and diplomats sought to develop the government, military and citizen functions. Now the failure is placed on the current administration.

I believe the Pentagon shares a major responsibility for the failures.
