Robert L. Monson

MONSON, Mass. – Robert L. Maheux, 82, a resident of Munn Road, Monson, Mass., formerly of Lewiston, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021

He was born in Lewiston, May 1, 1939, the son of Doria and Simonne (Gagne) Maheux.

Mr. Maheux served in the United States Army Reserves being honorably discharged in 1963. He married the love of his life, the former Dolores C. Cayer on May 31, 1958.

Robert was a foreman with a commercial roofer in Massachusetts for over 40 years until his retirement in 2005.

He loved to dance and also was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his family camp on Parker Pond.

Survivors include his wife Dolores of Monson, Mass., two sons, Michael and his wife Tracy of San Jose, Calif., Mark and his wife Kathleen of Hudson, North Carolina; one daughter Mona St. John and husband Robert of Florence, Ariz.; one brother Raymond and wife Theresa of Woolwich. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Richard and a grandson, Dylan.

Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Sunday Sept. 19, at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Robert’s life will be celebrated 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20, at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul in the lower Chapel. Committal prayers to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
