AUBURN — Good Shepherd Food Bank recently recognized the largest donors in 2021 within its Corporate Partners for a Hunger-Free Maine.

The donors are a group of socially responsible corporations and their corporate foundations that support the food bank in providing food to people facing food insecurity across Maine through its statewide partner agency network of food pantries, meal sites, shelters, schools, health centers and other community organizations.

Its Transformational Partner: Hannaford Supermarkets, which donated the equivalent of 9.9 million meals through a combination of monetary gifts and food donations in the last year.

Its Visionary Partners, responsible for 150,000 to 5,000,000 meals: Albertsons Companies Foundation, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Atlantic Federal Credit Union, Bangor Savings Bank, Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Bernstein Shur, BJ’s Wholesale, Cigna Foundation, Circle K and
Feeding America.

Also, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Kennebec Savings Bank, Maine Credit Union League, New Balance Foundation, Poland Spring Water Co., Raytheon Technologies, Sam’s Club, Shaw’s, SYSCO of Northern New England, Target, The Via Agency, Trader Joe’s, Versant Power, Viking Lumber and Walmart.

Corporate partners also demonstrate their support by matching employee gifts and/or employee hours, as well as volunteering at our distribution centers in Auburn and Hampden.
