Marian L. Allen

BRUNSWICK – Marian L. Allen, beloved mother, left for her heavenly home on Sept. 14, 2021.

Born on May 3, 1941, to Norman and Louise Leeman of Harpswell, she was raised in the fishing village of Cundy’s Harbor. On June 10, 1961, she married Edwin F. Allen and they raised their family in Auburn.

Marian and Ed were lifelong members of the Lisbon Falls Church of the Nazarene. Marian was passionate about caring and advocating for children as evidenced by her service for more than 39 years as a foster parent and head of the nursery at her church. She lived a simple life caring for children, working in her flower gardens, sewing for her family, and thoroughly enjoyed the life of a homemaker.

Marian is survived by her children, Shirley Allen (Wayne Rodgers), Deborah Allen, Virginia Balsamo (Robert), Karen Allen, James Allen (Danielle), Wayne Allen; and her grandchildren Alex and April Rodgers; her siblings Ann Bassett, Evelyn Smith, Kenneth Leeman, Victor Leeman (Karen), and Linda Strickland (Stan).

She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin F. Allen; and her brother, Thomas Leeman.

Visitation Crosman Funeral Home Sunday Sept. 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral Monday 11 a.m. at Lisbon Falls Church of the Nazarene, 188 Main St., Lisbon Falls, ME 04252. Committal will follow at Cranberryhorn Cemetery in Harpswell.
