To the Editor:
We don’t even know where to begin. Dozens of thank you’s would not be enough.
This May we were dealt an awful blow to our everyday ordinary lives. Our son Jared, at the age of 27, had a cancerous brain tumor removed. Moving forward, his team of doctors started him on a very aggressive line of treatment to include chemo pills, chemo infusions, and radiation 5 days a week. That was a difficult 7 weeks for him.

All the while this was going on, we have had all of these “angels” assisting us in many ways. Some with anonymous donations of gift cards or cash. Others sent some very nice heartfelt cards with words of encouragement and love. Thanks to all of those that came out and helped us paint Jared’s house on that really hot day. We know many people are disappointed to see the landmark on Intervale Road changed to a different color, but it looks great.

One of our biggest and brightest angels is Catelynn Savage. She put together a pig roast to honor and celebrate Jared. Little did she know that it was going to morph into this amazing event and fundraiser. She went with it and made the event phenomenal! Thank you to all of the businesses and individuals that put items in the raffle; also all of the people that brought food and helped cook and set up. While
Catelynn was doing this she was also selling bracelets and stickers. Danielle Horton thank you for stepping in and helping Catelynn. I am so glad you have gotten to see Bethel at its finest.

Many of Jared’s friends have assisted in so many ways, including mowing his lawn, getting items to raffle and so many other things. We would like to list all of you, but we are so afraid of leaving someone out. You all know that we think the world of you and we could not have asked for any better people in our lives.

We were heartbroken that Jared and I were unable to attend the pig roast as he was in the hospital. We can say we surely felt all of the love as we received messages, photos and video chatted with family and friends.

The real estate community has really shown their support for my family and me. Regina Saucier, thank you for keeping that part of my life informed.

Sometimes it is difficult living in a small town where everyone knows your business. At times like this, we have been so grateful that this small town knows our business and shows us that they care. With the overwhelming support shown to Jared and his whole family, we are proud to call Bethel our home.

Thank you for showing your support for Jared and his family!

William and Louise Rice
