100 Years Ago: 1921

The Boston Daily Advertiser of September 21, shows a half-tone of three prominent Auburn ladies who with their husbands attended the convention of 33rd degree Masons with headquarters at the Copley-Plaza this week. Those ladies are Mrs. John H. Merrill, Mrs. A.M. Penley and Mrs. A.E.Verrill

50 Years Ago: 1971

The multi story building at 33 Court St., Auburn, which houses the Auburn Savings Bank and in which the Dunlap Insurance Agency has been a tenant for many years, has been sold by the bank to the insurance firm, it was announced Thursday. The building was constructed in 1933 and Dunlap’s has been a tenant there since 1934. The bank is planning to eventually construct a new home office, probably within the Great Falls Renewal Project area.

25 Years Ago: 1996

Over 50 teen-agers from western Maine filled the First Baptist Church of Rumford for the beginning of the church’s weekend Centennial celebration Friday night. The teens presented a medley of contemporary songs under the directorship of Rev. Charles Tyler of the North Livermore Baptist Church. The celebration culminated with a boiled dinner prepared..by the men of the church. All guests received a  First Baptist Church 100th anniversary mug.
