NORWAY — Two juveniles were summoned by police after vehicles were hit Tuesday with BBs on Main Street, Police Chief Robert Federico said Wednesday.

Cindy Leavitt contacted the Sun Journal on Tuesday to report that her son, Cody Leavitt, was driving a Jeep on Main Street, with his 2-month-old son in the backseat, when a shot from a BB gun shattered a passenger-side window.

Cody Leavitt was struck on his neck behind his ear by either shattered glass or the BB, Cindy Leavitt said. He escaped serious injury.

Cindy Leavitt said her grandson was in the backseat on the passenger side and was not hurt.

“If the BB had hit his window just 12 inches away, I’m scared to think how terrible it could have been,” she said.

Federico said the juveniles were shooting at cans and cars leading up to the incident, which occurred about 6 p.m., according to Leavitt.

Several vehicles were apparently struck, she said.
