Brewer (0-4) at Mt. Blue (0-2)
Friday, 7 p.m.
A pair of hard-luck teams meet in Farmington, and each must be looking at the other as the cure to a winless season. The Cougars’ loss to Lewiston last week was only their second game of the season.

Dirigo (2-2) at Mountain Valley (1-1)
Friday, 7 p.m.
Longtime rivals meet for the first time in eight-man football. Both have bounced back from rough introductions to the new style, though the Falcons have only played twice due to game cancellations.

Lewiston (1-3) at Sanford (2-2)
Friday, 7 p.m.
The Blue Devils, facing the adversity of their coach stepping down two days earlier, stormed to a shutout win over Mt. Blue last week. The Spartans, meanwhile, followed losses to two of the state’s top teams with a pair of wins over teams with one combined win.

Oxford Hills (4-0) at Edward Little (0-4)
Friday, 7 p.m.
The Vikings claimed a big win over Bonny Eagle last week, and are one of Class A’s two remaining unbeaten teams. The Red Eddies have the difficult, possibly impossible, task of trying to rebuild while facing teams like Oxford Hills, Thornton, Bonny Eagle and Scarborough.

Spruce Mountain (2-2) at Gray-New Gloucester (2-2)
Friday, 7 p.m.
The Phoenix and the Patriots have set themselves up in the middle of the pack of the eight-man Large School South Region. Their offenses are capable of scoring a lot of points, while their defenses have been susceptible to giving them up. Should be an interesting matchup.

Bucksport (1-1) at Oak Hill (2-1)
Saturday, 1:30 p.m.
The Raiders have won two consecutive games after opening the season by taking their turn losing to Foxcroft. The Golden Bucks, in their return from three weeks off following a season-opening loss to Winthrop/Monmouth/Hall-Dale, took their turn beating John Bapst last week.

Leavitt (2-0) at Westbrook (2-2)
Saturday, 1:30 p.m.
Two weeks ago, many wondered what sort of rust the Hornets might have after their first two games were called off. They then outscored Wells and Gardiner 74-0. If this is a rusty version of the Hornets, then yikes for the rest of Class C.

*NOTE: The Lisbon at Winthrop/Monmouth/Hall-Dale and Poland at Freeport games have been canceled.
