The Lewiston Public Library plans to host Zero Waste Maine for a virtual program, “Living a Life Less Wasteful,” on Monday, Oct. 25.

This free, public program is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom and will be simultaneously livestreamed to the library’s Facebook page.

Julie Olson, co-founder of Zero Waste Maine, will give a virtual presentation about how she reduced her household’s trash by more than 85%, along with a variety of practical skills and strategies viewers can use to reduce their own waste.

Olson is a librarian and lifelong learner who shares her suburban home with her husband, son and rescue pets. A maker and a supporter of eating and shopping locally, she finds strategies and resources that support zero waste and spreading the word to others.

Admission is free. Registration is required for those participating through Zoom.

The virtual program is co-sponsored by the library and Zero Waste Maine. The library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon St. at the corner of Pine Street.
