Jared S. Rice

BETHEL – Jared S. Rice, 27, passed away on Wednesday Oct. 6, 2021, at the Androscoggin Hospice House, with is loving family by his side, after a courageous battle with Cancer. He was born April 8, 1994, in Norway a son of William and Louise (Snyder) Rice.

Jared attended the local school system up until his senior year which he was homeschooled along with attending Region 9 for automotive. Jared graduated from Royal Academy in Gray Maine. While in high school Jared worked with Pete Libby at Pinnacle Snowboard Shop. After high school he attended White Mountains Community College for diesel mechanic. While attending college he worked part time at Cross Excavation. After finishing school Jared worked full time at Cross Excavation. In May 2017 he moved to Doylestown Ohio and worked at Barberton Tree Service as a diesel mechanic. In May 2019 he moved back to his hometown of Bethel and returned to work at Cross Excavation. In July 2019 Jared took a position at the Town of Bethel as their mechanic. Which he absolutely loved this job but also all that he worked with.

Jared enjoyed working on diesel pickups and equipment in his spare time. He did some work for Savage Excavation and the Bennetts.

Jared loved spending time with close friends and family. All Jared had to do was open his garage door and he would have a crowd of his friends stop by to make more great memories. Jared’s greatest joy was his nephews and niece.

He was preceded by his grandparents, Ronald and Gloria Snyder and Burnham Rice. He is survived by his loving parents, William and Louise Rice; his brother Charlie Rice and his wife Amber, his sister Jillian Rice and her significant other Dave Duguay; and his nephews Alex Duguay and Ripley Rice and his niece Hazel Rice. He is also suvived by his fiancé Tehya Johnson; his grandmother Wendy Hutchins and her husband Harold Hutchins; many aunts and uncles and cousins.

The family will hold visiting hours on Oct. 15, 2021, from 4-8 p.m. at the West Bethel Union Church, 748 West Bethel Road Bethel. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday Oct. 16, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the West Bethel Union Church, 748 West Bethel Road, Bethel. There will be a gathering for family and friends at River Lanes, 22 Cross Street, Bethel, following the service. For those unable to attend the service will be livestreamed on Jared’s obituary page.
