WINTHROP — Zach Shields, Hunter Driscoll and Seamus Keoug each scored a goal in the second half to lead Buckfield (4-5-1) to a 3-1 victory over Winthrop (5-7) in MVC boys soccer on Thursday.

Trevin Albert and Seamus Keough each collected assists for the Bucks. Winthrop’s loan goal came from Iker Penniman on a Tyler Shumway assist.

Goalies Gavin Charest and Jaxon August each made six saves.

DIRIGO 2, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0: The Cougars (2-10) scored twice in the second half to take down the Falcons (1-9) in Rumford.

Drew Collins scored with 10:43 left in the game off an assist from Loegan Hodgkins. Dalton Hodgkins scored with 2:47 left in the game to double up Mountain Valley. Dirigo goalkeeper Travis Wright saved six shots.

Mountain Valley’s Zach New saved 14 shots.

LEWISTON 6, BANGOR 1: Igor Domingues scored the first two goals for the Blue Devils (11-0-1) before reinforcements showed up in the second half of a KVAC win over the Rams (7-3-2) in Lewiston.

David Abdi had a goal and an assist, an Khalid Hersi, Abdi Hassan and Obed Antonio all had second-half goals. Hamze Nur and Josh Brito added assists and Tanner Anctil made five saves for Lewiston.

Eduardo Trevino scored a first-half goal for Bangor off an assist from Henry Poulin.

GIRLS SOCCER
SKOWHEGAN 3, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Annabelle Morris scored two goals to lead the River Hawks to a win over the Red Eddies in Skowhegan

Allie Frey added a goal for Skowhegan (1-10-2). Reese Danforth had 10 saves to earn the shutout.

Hailee Brown had 19 saves for the Red Eddies (3-9-1).

FIELD HOCKEY
LEAVITT 8, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: The Hornets (11-1) shut out the Eagles (1-10-1) in Turner.

Maddie Morin scored twice in the second quarter and led all scorers. Cara Jordan scored first in the first quarter, followed by Kaylee Bellmore and Ava Gagnon in the second before Morin’s two goals.

In the third, Megan Nason and Cierra Barker scored a goal each before Izzy Gates added a goal of her own in the final quarter. Paige DeMascio saved one shot for Leavitt.

Lincoln Academy’s Addie Brinkler saved eight shots.

TELSTAR 1, HALL-DALE 0: The Rebels (1-13) scored late in the game to take down the Bulldogs (3-8-2) in Bethel.

Telstar’s Maya Taylor scored with 3:31 left in regulation to give her team a 1-0 advantage and eventually the victory, the team’s first of the season. Leah Kimball passed the ball into the circle to Tasha Mason, who then found Taylor for the goal.

EB Hoff saved six shots for Telstar, while Hall-Dale’s Kelsey Cormier saved three.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 2, OAK HILL 1: Aubrey Kachnovich scored with 3:49 left to break a tie and send the Phoenix (6-5-2) past the Raiders (4-8-1) in Wales.

Ella Plourde assisted on the game-winning goal. Spruce Mountain opened the scoring on a Paris Howes goal assisted by Ryleigh Castonguay in the first quarter. Jayden Achorn made six saves in the win.

Mia Valliere tied the game in the second quarter on an unassisted goal. Sierra Lane stopped 13 shots in goal for Oak Hill.

SOUTHERN MAINE 2, UM-FARMINGTON 1: Chloe Arsenault broke a tie with 4:35 remaining as the Huskies (9-6) topped the Beavers (5-6) at Gorham.

Sage Drinkwater put USM ahead late in the third quarter. Alex Bessey tied it with about nine minutes left.
