VIRIGINIA – Mr. Laurier “Larry” Hilaire Lemay passed from this life on Sept. 26, 2021, at the age of 98. He led a good and honorable life and is destined for glory.

Born July 13, 1923, to Henry and Georgianna (Pepin) Lemay in Auburn. He moved to Virginia in April 2015.

A member of the U.S. Navy during WWII he served on the USS Belleau Wood in the Pacific War Area. His career with the Philips-Elmet Corp, Lewiston, spanned 33 years.

Larry was genuine, gentle, kind, hardworking, dependable, and accommodating. He was a heroic and dedicated caregiver to his wife during decades of illness and disability. An avid Red Sox and Bruins fan. He found peace and relaxation trolling for fish on the lakes and off the coast of Maine.

He is survived by his son, Rev. Donald “Don” H. Lemay of North Chesterfield, Va. and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Marie (Champagne); parents; brothers Richard, Tom, and Ronaldo, and sister, Loraine.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Dr., North Chesterfield, VA 23235 on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. Online guest book available at affinityfuneralservice.com.
