OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Elise MacNair recorded a hat trick to lead seventh-seeded Old Orchard Beach past No. 10 Mountain Valley in a Class C South girls soccer prelim on Saturday.

Tessa Ferguson chipped in with a goal and an assist for the Seagulls (10-5). Molly Mason also had an assist.

Justice Gendron made nine saves for the Falcons (5-8). Summer St. Louis needed just one save for the shutout.

The Seagulls will face second-seeded Oak Hill in the quarterfinals.

GREELY 2, LEAVITT 0: Carly Asherman and Allie Martin scored for the eighth-seeded Rangers (7-5-2) in a Class B South opening-round win over the ninth-seeded Hornets (4-7-3) in Cumberland.

Greely advances to play No. 1 Cape Elizabeth in the quarterfinals.

WELLS 4, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Emma Badger notched three goals and an assist to lead the sixth-seeded Warriors (9-5-1) over the 11th-seeded Patriots (5-10) in a Class B South prelim in Wells.

Badger broke the school single-season goals record of 30.

Grace Badger also scored, Grace Boucher had two assists and Amelia Rider got one assist.

Ashleen Perkins scored for the Patriots.

FIELD HOCKEY
MESSALONSKEE 2, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Isabel Culver and Isabel Kramer each scored goals to give the No. 5 Eagles a win over the No. 12 Eddies in a Class A North prelim game in Oakland.

Francesca Caccamo had an assist for Messalonskee (10-5), while Nealey Dillon had one save to earn the shutout for the Eagles.

Edward Little finishes the season with a 1-14-0 record.

WILLIAMS 3, BATES 2, OT: Emily Batchelor scored with an assist from Elizabeth Welch 3:19 into overtime as the Ephs (11-3, 6-3 NESCAC) beat the Bobcats (6-8, 2-7) in Lewiston.

Molly Hellerman and Catherine Torres also scored for Williams.

Caroline Grady had a first-half goals and Paige Cote scored 3:12 into the fourth quarter to tie it for Bates.

Carson Stephenson and Gates Tenerowicz split time for the Ephs, combining for nine saves and Grace Biddle had five saves for the Bobcats.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
WILLIAMS 1, BATES 0: Tori Huang scored an unassisted goal in the 53rd minute and Chelsea Taylor stopped all four shots she faced as the Ephs (6-7-1, 4-4-0 NESCAC) shutout the Bobcats (3-9-2, 1-8-0) at Lewiston.

Chase Crawford had seven saves for Bates.

MEN’S SOCCER
WILLIAMS 1, BATES 0: Nathan Strong scored in the 82nd minute and the Ephs (7-5-2, 3-4-2 NESCAC) beat the Bobcats (6-8, 3-6) in Lewiston.

Ben Diffley had four saves for Williams, while Bruce David had four saves for Bates.
