BANGOR – Judith Marie (Boulay) Bryant, 82, of Bangor, passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021 after succumbing to complications due to COVID, although she was fully vaccinated.

Judy was born in Lewiston on March 7, 1939, the daughter of Paul and Mary “Betty” Boulay. She graduated from Lewiston High School and married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Bazinet, with whom she shared two sons. Her second and final marriage made her an Air Force wife, with travels taking her to Colorado Springs, Colo., Portsmouth, N.H., and Omaha, Neb., before finally settling back home in Maine.

Judy was a petite, feisty woman with a stubborn streak like no other and a gift for conversation. She was quick to offer opinions and feelings, but at her core she was loving, caring and always well intentioned. She was regarded by her family as a great cook—especially her brownies, cretons and Sunday pot roasts. In her younger days she loved to ski, snowmobile and ride her motorcycle—the faster the better. Based upon some of her vocabulary, she may have been a sailor; we’re not sure.

She had a beautiful singing voice and sang in several choirs. She volunteered with her long-time companion selling 50/50 tickets at UMO ice hockey games and at the front desk at St. Joseph Hospital. She treasured the many connections she made there. She loved trips to the Dollar Store, Grapenut ice cream, most any furry creature and a multitude of incorrectly used words that provided her family with unintended laughs. We will forever remember the best night of playing Cards Against Humanity as the night she played. These are the memories we will cherish.

She is survived by her two sons, Steven (wife, Juli) of Westbrook and Michael (wife, Kelly) of Bangor; her “sister-belle”, Ann Gresian (husband, Mike) of Plainville, Mass.; five grandchildren to whom she was “Mimi”, Kenneth, Nicholas (wife, Catherine), Jayde, Alyse, Evan; and great-grandchild, Matthew Bazinet; nephews Mark and Keith Passamonti of Massachusetts.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James “Jim” Bryant; and infant daughter, Michele Bazinet.

Our family would especially like to thank the staff at Westgate Rehab in Bangor for their kindness, compassion and empathy during Judy’s final days. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Boyd Place and two very special nurses with St. Joseph Home Health: Dana and Hanna. You all played a special part in Judy’s life and are so appreciated.
