Old Jack sits on the porch step
The wind all full of might
The dance of flickering candle
Seen glowing in the night

Old Jack sits on the porch step
The children come and go
Their costumes and their masks
Their names he’ll never know

Old Jack sits on the porch step
His jagged teeth and smile
He tips his twisted cap
He’ll be there for awhile

Old Jack sits on the porch step
Looks out upon the scene
He’s waiting in the darkness
He’s there on Halloween…
