100 Years Ago: 1921

The first snow of the season fell Friday morning. During the “storm,” which lasted about fifteen minutes, a well-known Wilton man was seen mowing his lawn.

50 Years Ago: 1971

A seven-member School Council is assisting the administrative staff of St. Dominic Regional High School, Lewiston in an advisory capacity. Its purposes are to help the principal in decision-making matters of serious importance to the welfare of the school; to assist him in a study of discipline problems, with the hope of arriving at a reasonable solution; to assist him in the study of Student Senate and faculty recommendations; and to advise him in matters pertaining to sports activities. Those people are Sister Jeanette Gonthier, Brother Louis Laperle, principal, Rev. Robert Girouard, chaplain; Bro. Rodolph Berard, Bro. Adrien Bouchard, assistant principal, Roland Roy, and Brother Laflamme, guidance director.

25 Years Ago: 1996

Reindeer Theatre Company, a Portland-based group formed in 1994 by Lewiston/Auburn entertainer Louis-Philippe, has announced plans to present “Among My Souvenirs,” RTC’s musical tribute to the legendary pop singer Connie Francis, at 8 p.m., Friday and  Saturday, Nov. 15 and Nov. 16, at Marco’s Restaurant, 177 Lisbon St. in Lewiston. “Among My Souvenirs” is the title of one of Francis’ well-known hits.
