Reed J. McLean

RUMFORD – Mr. Reed J. McLean, 69, died Thursday November 4, 2021 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was a resident of Franklin St in Rumford. Born in Rumford, Maine on February 25, 1952 he was a son of Russell and Jessie (Crawford) McLean. Reed attended Rumford schools and worked at Maine Woods and Franklin Shoe as a Machine Operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. Reed was a very hard-working man who would give his shirt off his back for anyone in need. He was the strongest man we could ever know, he had the biggest heart and loved everyone he knew so very much. He had a lot of friends, family and neighbors that loved him dearly. His wife, Mary McLean, who loved him to the end and they were soulmates matched in heaven, he was everything she needed in life and now her life feels empty without him. Reed was married in Mexico, Maine on April 21, 1984 to Mary Hodgdon who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include his daughters, Jackie Martin and companion Tracy Hart of Bethel, Christine Aiken and husband Buddy of Springvale, ME, Michelle McLean and companion Derrick Gathers of Sanford, ME Crystal McLean and companion Andrew Beaulieu of Temple, ME, brothers, Russell of Peru, Howard and his wife Debbie of Jay, Richard and his wife Kathleen of Andover, Roy and his wife Cheryl of Rumford, sisters, Norma Bukoveckas and husband Ray of Montana, Arlene Lowell and husband Paul of Louisiana, Hazel Blood and husband Olie of Jay, ME, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
