This past year, numerous towns throughout Maine passed resolutions in town councils and annual town meetings supporting national carbon pricing with dividends for all U.S. households.

At this moment, carbon pricing is being planned for inclusion in the budget reconciliation bill.

Now is the time to remind our members of Congress we care about our climate future, and we want carbon pricing with dividends. It’s one of the best things we can do to move our society toward non-polluting energy and to compensate households for the deferred costs and damage to our future.

A simple call urging one’s U.S. representative and/or Sens. Angus King and Susan Collins to support carbon pricing with dividends could make it happen — while we still have a chance.
