DEAR SUN SPOTS: My grandfather and grandmother love to go to the annual FEZtival of Trees in Lewiston but are very concerned about getting COVID-19 despite having their vaccines and boosters. Do you know if they are requiring everyone to wear masks and stay socially distant? — Betty, Lewiston

ANSWER: According to the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/feztivaloftreez) about the event, all volunteers are required to wear masks and attendees are strongly encouraged to wear them.

I would hope by this time everyone will be considerate of others and respect each other’s space.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m looking for a person to repair a thin leather strap on a camera case. I’m also looking for someone to tile a backsplash in the Auburn area.

Do  you have any businesses that do this type of work in your Rolodex. Thank you for all the help you provide to everyone. — No name, no town

ANSWER: Just recently I published the name and contact information of a gentleman who does leatherwork for people Maurice Pelletier in Lewiston at 312-9624. When I spoke with him, he assured me he could help with some tasks like this but also does bigger jobs too. Give him a call.

For your backsplash, try Maine Modern Tile (https://mainemoderntile.com/kicthen-tile-installation-otisfiled-me/.) Yes, that link is correct. Their contact information is 595-0495 or email mainemoderntile@outlook.com.

Other options are Foothills Flooring & Tile (https://www.foothillsflooringandtile.com/services, 744-2219) and Marbled Oak Hardwood & Tile (https://www.marbledoak.com/services/, 1-858-242-2416).

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have an old Christmas stocking full of undeveloped film from my college days. I never got around to developing them in my 20s because, well, I was a broke 20-something. I’d love to develop them now and remind myself what sort of shenanigans I was up to back then. Are there any photo shops still around where I can take my old film to be developed? I hesitate to take them to a place like CVS because some of them are 20 years old and may need a little more expert care. I’m willing to travel a little for the right locally owned shop. — No name, Auburn

ANSWER: Photo Finish, located at the Auburn Mall (across from Claire’s at Suite #9007) can help you. Go to https://mainephotofinish.com/ where there is an email form and someone will get back to you or call 783-3354.
