The flute duo of Chris Lansley and Sally Grube will perform at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston.

The duo have named their program “Classical Men and Modern Women,” with music by Telemann, Handel, Corelli, Chedeville and Haydn, plus selections by Elizabeth Vercoe and Joyce Tang. Both Lansley and Grube play flute with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra. Lansley, principal flautist for the ASO, will be performing the Rossetti Flute Concerto with the orchestra at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5, at the South Parish Church in Augusta.

The Oasis of Music is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes, running from September to May. Admission is free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic formats. COVID restrictions of optional mask-wearing and social distancing are observed. The concerts are held in the downstairs chapel. For more information, call 207-344-3106.
