Arthur Blouin

RUMFORD – Arthur Blouin, 91, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 at his residence on Dunton Street in Rumford. Born in Rumford on July 3, 1930 he was a son of Elizear “Henry and Jeanne (Robert) Blouin.

He was a 1950 graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford and served in the US Army from 1950 to 1955 Ordinance Corp and was stationed in Germany. Arthur owned and operated Art’s Exxon in Dixfield until his retirement when his two sons took over the business.

He was married in Rumford on Nov. 28, 1953 to Arlene Tibbetts Blowers who passed away on Jan. 25, 2021. They would have celebrated 68 years of marriage this month.

Arthur is survived by his children, Laura Qualey and husband Joseph of Oakland, Steve and his companion Debbie Radcliff of Rumford, Michael and his wife Kelly of Dixfield, Melanie Cyr and fiancé Barry Bunten of Roxbury, Andrea Howard and her husband Stephen of Portsmouth, NH, and Jessica Patterson and her husband Duane of Rochester, NH; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister Simonne Suggs of Washington, and a sister-in-law, Janette Blouin of South Rumford; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Arlene; his parents; and siblings.

The family would like to thank the VA Home Based Primary Care Team, especially Kathy N.P. and Penny, R.N, Assistance Plus Crystelle and Jessie and Androscoggin Hospice for all the support in meeting Dad’s wishes to remain in his home.
