To the Editor:

The dress code at the SAD 44 schools is set for a reason. But I also think that some of the things that are in the dress code are a little bit obsessive.

Like hats in the schools shouldn’t be an issue as long as they are taken off for the pledge; all hats include beanies, baseball caps, and hoods. Something that really shouldn’t be in the dress code is the rips in the front of girls’ jeans.

Most people feel that as long as there are no body parts are hanging out, it shouldn’t be an issue with those types of jeans. This being said, I think that numbers on a t-shirt should not be a part of the dress code because most parents just buy their kids clothes and do not think about the number, where it came from, or what gang the number came from.

Point being, I think that some of the dress code is a good thing but some things on there are not necessary. I am not against the dress code entirely, but I am against some of it. Most students say that the dress code is not an issue and some disagree with some of it.
