Madeleine Dupre Cote

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Madeleine “Maddy” Dupre Cote, 86, of Chandler, Ariz., passed away in her sleep on Dec 30, 2021.

Maddy was born in Lewiston on June 3, 1935, to Joseph and Helena (Langlois) Bureau. She graduated from St. Dominic’s High School, class of 1953.

Maddy worked many years as a hair stylist, first at her own shop, then later at D’Youville Pavilion (Marcotte Nursing Home). She enjoyed being outdoors, walking, bicycling, bowling, swimming, knitting hats for the needy, playing cribbage, and watching the Red Sox and Diamondbacks. She was a member of a group of graduates that would get together for a monthly breakfast.

She is survived by her sisters Jackie Madore of Bristol, Conn. and Angie Pellerin of Auburn; two children from her first marriage to Donald Dupre, David Dupre (Sandi) of Greer, S.C., and Joline Swauger (Steve) of Chandler, Ariz.; three grandsons, Michael Dupre of Honolulu, Timothy Dupre (Dana) of Kershaw, S.C. and Zachary Swauger of Gilbert, Ariz.; one great-granddaughter, Faeryn Dupre of Kershaw, S.C.; four stepchildren, Daniel Cote (Janice), Paul Cote (Nancy), Ronald Cote (Lynn) and Nancy Craven (Richard), and their children and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; first husband, Donald Dupre, husband, Armand Cote; brothers the Rev. Germain Bureau and Normand Bureau, sisters Mariel Leblanc, and Jeannine Carini; and her children John Dupre and Ann Marie Dupre.

Memorial services are planned for a future date in Maine.
