PARIS — A fast-moving fire destroyed a horse barn Tuesday afternoon on Mount Mica Road, said the local fire chief.

The fire was reported at approximately 2 p.m. By the time firefighters arrived at 22 Mount Mica Road, the 20-by-80-foot structure was fully engulfed in flames, Paris Fire Chief Mark Blaquiere said.

The one horse in the barn escaped with no injuries, Blaquiere said. No firefighters or other animals were injured.

The home, located a short distance from the barn, was not damaged.

Firefighters from West Paris, Norway and Oxford assisted the Paris Fire Department at the scene.
