The Lovell Lions Club plans to hold its annual Norris Bennett Memorial Scholarship Fund Fishing Derby from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Lodge at Pleasant Point, 145 Pleasant Point Road in Lovell.

For the Biggest Togue from Kezar Lake only, the first prize is $1,500, second is $500, third is $300, and fourth and fifth are $100 each.

For ages 15 and younger for Biggest Any Fish‚ the first prize is $100, second is $50 and third is $20.

A kids’ casting contest will be held at 11:30 a.m., with prizes for all.

All participants must register at the registration table at the Pleasant Point Town Beach, Pleasant Point Road, unless they have purchased a ticket in advance. The registration fee is $25.

All registrants are eligible for door prizes. Door prizes and the raffle prize will be announced during the awards ceremony at 4 p.m.

The raffle prize includes a 6-foot by 10-foot Sno-pro fishing shack with an estimated valued of $4,800. Tickets cost $25 each or five for $100, and can be purchased at the Lovell Hardware store, Main Street in Lovell, or by calling 207-928-9023.

The food booth will be open with ample parking.

Money raised from the derby will provide four $1,000 scholarships for Fryeburg Academy seniors. Additional funds will enable the Lions to provide assistance to families in need for medical or other unforeseen expenses.
