LEWISTON — Byzantine Catholic Association of Maine has announced that as a show of solidarity with the people of Ukraine, and to pray for their protection and victory over the invading forces in their native land, a Divine Liturgy this week will be served in Ukrainian Greek Catholic chant instead of the typical Melkite chant.

Most of the liturgy, scheduled for at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Holy Cross Church, 1080 Lisbon St., will be in English, according to a news release from the association.

All are welcome to join.

The association meets at 5 p.m. every Saturday. For more information, visit byzantinecatholicmaine.org, find the association on Facebook, or contact the Rev. Robert (Basil) Parent at 207-212-3218 or FPHRENT1@roadrunner.com.
