The Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club plans the upcoming speaker events for March.

Justin Ward of Bridgton Books is scheduled to be the speaker during a hybrid meeting in person at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Stella’s on the Square at 6 High St. For the Zoom link, email George Szok at gszoksbox@gmail.com.

Bridgton Books was named Small Business of the Year by the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region last year. Ward will share his experience operating a small retail establishment during the pandemic and what changes he might make to his business model moving forward.

Krissy Fraser of the Kismet Rock Foundation is scheduled to speak at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, also in person at Stella’s on the Square. For the Zoom link, email gszoksbox@gmail.com.

Kismet Rock Foundation nourishes the physical, intellectual and emotional development of rural and urban children throughout New England before they enter their perilous teen years. The foundation’s success in redirecting the path and supporting the potential of children is accomplished by providing scholarships for a comprehensive education in technical rock climbing within the context of a stable and loving family-like atmosphere.

For the rest of March, all meetings will be held in person with a Zoom option at a new time, 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays. These changes will be evaluated for at least 60 days. The in-person part of the meeting will return to Stella’s on the Square.
