The Twin City Thunder’s season came to an end Sunday night.
Bradey Farrell scored 1:29 into double overtime to give the Junior Bruins a 2-1 win in the deciding Game 3 of the USPHL NCDC North Division first-round series at New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
The Thunder won Game 1 in double-overtime on Friday before the Junior Bruins evened the series with a win in regulation in Game 2 on Saturday.
The Junior Bruins advance to the North Division finals against the top-seeded New Hampshire Junior Monarchs, who will host the entire series next weekend at Tri-Town Ice Arena in Hooksett, New Hampshire.
Ryan Decker forced overtime with his power-play goal midway through the third period to keep the second-seeded Junior Bruins’ season alive. Henry Wilson assisted on the goal.
The Junior Bruins sent 19 shots on goal in the third period after compiling 17 total between the first and second frames.
Ethan Lim scored from scored from Jack Anderson to give the third-seeded Thunder a 1-0 lead 11:45 into the first period.
The Thunder had 14 shots on goal in the first period and 14 more in the second.
Dane Couture made 58 saves for the Thunder, while Colin stopped 41 of 42 for the Junior Bruins.

NORTHEAST 7, MAINE 6, OT: Alex Krause scored the game-winner in overtime to lift the Generals past the Nordiques at The Colisee.
Krause also opened the scoring for the Generals in the first period, and Northeast held that 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Nordiques outscored the Generals 4-2 in the second period to take a 4-3 lead. Brendan Gibbons scored two goals in the frame and Reese Farrell had a goal and an assist.
Ewan McDevitt stopped 30 of 37 shots while taking the loss for Maine, and Cullen DeYoung made 18 saves for Northeast.
