DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m looking for the person who dropped a restaurant gift card on Whitman Spring Road in Auburn this past weekend. It was found Sunday, April 10,  around 12:30 p.m. If you can identify the eatery, it’s yours. Contact me at heatheromccarthy@gmail.com. — Heather, no town

ANSWER: You are so kind to take the time to put this out into Sun Spots Land. Let us know if anyone responds. If no one does, you could go to the restaurant and donate it toward someone’s meal.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: After seeing a news story about browntail moths on TV, I noticed thousands of nests in the oak trees that are between the ball fields and the pet cemetery near Auburn Public Works. Is there any spraying program or other plans to deal with this?

Also, how would someone suggest a story to a reporter at the Sun Journal? It would be great to have an email address that is published like it is for Sun Spots. — No name, no town

ANSWER: Every year beginning around this time, I receive several letters with  concerns regarding browntail moth caterpillars.

The city arborists have been diligently working to take the nests down, but it’s impossible to get to them all. To get word to the city about your concerns, the best way to reach them is to fill out the form on the city’s website at https://www.auburnmaine.gov/ReportIt.
