LEWISTON – Madelyn Roy, 76, of Scribner Boulevard, Lewiston died on May 10, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston after a long illness and with her loving husband, Gene and her family by her side.

Mady was born on Nov. 26, 1945, to Georges and Madeleine Roy, in Van Buren. Educated in Lewiston schools, she was a 1962 graduate of Lewiston High School and later earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Maine Augusta. On April 14, 2000, she married Gene Drouin. Mady worked as an accountant for several area businesses and had a long career with Lee Auto Mall. She truly enjoyed working for Lee and was proud to say that she had been hired by Shep Lee himself. Once retired, she enjoyed volunteering her time for the CASH program, helping seniors complete their tax returns.

A long-time member of Holy Cross Church, Mady lived the qualities of her Catholic faith: she was kind, caring, generous, and never missed an opportunity to help anyone in need. Mady loved reading, crossword puzzles, theatre, the beach, and visiting Quebec City. She was a quick wit and found humor in the everyday. She loved children and had special relationships with her many nieces and nephews. Her family and friends will miss her beyond words.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; and sister-in-law, Priscilla Gemmiti; two brothers, George Roy (Vicky) of Fayette and Rejean Roy (Florence) of Naples, four sisters, Marielle Roy (Paul) and Ginette Theriault (Norm) of Lewiston, Marise Lebel (Phil) of Old Orchard Beach, and Pauline Hirth (Sam) of Brunswick; brother-in-law, Chuck Blakeman (Molly) of Yarmouth; and dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She joins her parents and her sisters Betty and Denise in heaven.
