To the Editor:

Thank you to everyone who came out to help with Bethel’s Green Up Day on Saturday, May 7. We had over 53 people arrive ready to pick up litter along our roadsides. Great progress was made along The Parkway, Intervale Rd., Rt. 26, Rt. 5 and the North Rd.
We were inspired by the number of youth who showed up this year to help.! Telstar High School’s National Honor Society and friends and Gould’s Eighth Grade program really provided the people power needed to carry out an effective clean-up.
Thank you to the following individuals who helped with Green Up Day: Holly Johnson, Susan & Rich Kenney, Jim Armstrong, Kate Goldberg, Sophie Hanscom, EB Hoff, Andrew Leighton, Addie Charette, Lindsy Stephenson, Gabby Groves, Mia Johannson, Keaton Spiller, Nicole Cox, Elke Blauss, Kai Perks, Mason Perks, Henry Perks, Rose Goldberg, Clare Greene, Madeleine Long, Jack Furneaux, Quinn Doyle, Lauren Pelletier, Zach Garfield, Andy Moses, Lewis Anderson, Will Maddox, Rosemary Wiser, Jonathan Hoff, Michele & Scott Cole, Myles Lilly, Julia Head, Martha & Kirk Siegel, Carlie Casey, Julia Reuter, Garrett & Melody Bonnema, Jessie Perkins, Nancy Babcock, Alice Ford, Azaria Alcide, Katy & Nate Crooker, Maureen Sullivan, Melissa, Eagan & Owen Sheridan, and David Walker.
Thank you also to anyone we missed on this list and to all who helped clean-up on other days of the year. It is an ongoing chore for our community.
Special thanks to Scott & Michelle Cole and David Walker for transporting all the trash to the Transfer Station when the clean-up was over.
We loved coordinating clean-ups and having lunch with Woodstock, Greenwood, and Newry. Thank you, also, to MEDCo for sponsoring a yummy lunch for all the hungry volunteers.
