Homecoming Celebration

NORWAY — The Opera House and Historical Society jointly present a Homecoming Celebration with Mike Rozos, who, at the young age of 24 came from Virginia to start his job as Director of the Norway Paris Recreation Commission.

He placed a Teen Rec Center inside the Opera House in 1966, broadened skiing at NoPar for the public, built a new skating rink and sledding area, created extra Swim Programs and sent the Recreation Dept. Swim Bus to bring children and much more. Mike created over 30 programs for youth and elderly in Norway Paris and impacted our whole community with great care.

We invite everyone to come say ‘Hi’ to Mike again when he comes to Maine and gives an Oral Presentation of his journey! Enjoy The presentation will be on Saturday, June 25, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Meeting Room of the Historical Society.

Special Note: If you assisted Mike with any of his Recreation programs in positions such as ski instructors, swim instructors, chaperones for dances, supervisors for playgrounds, bus drivers, skating rink and ski area assistants, and this also goes out to those of you who were Jaycees or Kiwanis Members during this time who helped the Rec, or a teen who helped to plan and prepare the Opera House, Mike would love to see everyone who helped again, too!
