NORWAY — The Women’s shelter had a need for supplying women with necessities. They often come with just the clothes they are wearing.

The women at the Norway Grange decided to make tote bags and fill them with supplies. A member of the Norway American Legion Auxiliary also belongs to the Grange, and thought it would be a good joint effort to help with the supplies. The ladies worked together to get supplies and fill the totes with them.
The Shelter was thrilled to get the bags.
Both non-profits decided to continue making and filling the bags. Colleen Francis, a vendor from the Auxiliaries Craft Vendor Weekend who makes totes, generously donated a tote for each one sold at the fair.
Working together for the community is what both organizations stand for. It was a great experience.
Many thanks to Donna Pike and Christine Hebert from the Grange and the team from the Auxiliary: Sylvia Grover, Colleen Francis, Danielle Wadsworth, Melissa Chapman, Marie Pingree, and Diane Polvinen.
