Lucille A. Oldham

AUBURN – Lucille A. Oldham, 90, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Clover Manor with her family by her side. She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 5, 1931, the daughter of Ruth and Charles F. Chase. She attended Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1949 and from Lasell College in 1951. Lucille married Edward B. Oldham on May 29, 1954. She was a devoted wife and mother who delighted in keeping a clean house and tending to her family’s needs. She worked for many years as a teacher assistant for the Auburn School Department where she made many lifelong friends.Lucille was an outgoing, upbeat individual who enjoyed socializing with family and friends whenever she had the chance. She enjoyed spending summers at the family camp on Tripp Lake, and later, spending winter months in Bradenton, Florida. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their numerous extra-curricular activities. She was a lifelong member of the High Street Congregational Church and a 67-year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a member of the ELHS ‘49ers, Kora Temple Shrine Widows and Art Club. Lucille is survived by her daughters Karen Theriault and husband David, and Susan Turcotte and husband Paul, all of Auburn; brother-in-law Kenneth Oldham of Portage, Mich., and sister-in-law Nancy Packard of Bedford, N.H.; grandsons Kyle Theriault and wife Jenny of Syracuse, N.Y., Jeremy Theriault and wife Mary Kate of St. Louis, Mo., and granddaughter Lindsey Rogers and fiancée Rachel of Portsmouth, N.H.; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.She was predeceased by her parents, husband, sisters, Marilyn Oldham and Beverly Taylor, brothers-in-law Romeo Taylor, Lawrence Packard and Bruce Packard, sisters-in-law, Nelda Packard and Beatrice Packard.Memorial visitation will be held on May 28, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Auburn, 217 Turner St. followed by a memorial mass at High Street Congregational Church, 106 Pleasant Street, Auburn at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the care and direction of The Fortin Group, 217 Turner Street, Auburn, ME 04210, 207-783-8545.Donations made in Lucille’s name may be made out to Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice, or American Cancer Society.
