To the Editor:
I want to thank everyone who came out Memorial Day in Bethel to join in the joint service we had for our Veterans and also to attend the dedication of the Veterans Honor Roll. It was a great event, and it was nice to see so many people in attendance.
I would like to thank the following for their contributions to that day. Thank you to my husband Craig Ryerson, David Brown, John Kimball and Albert Lake for getting the chairs from the Legion, setting them up that morning of the event and all those who collapsed them and loaded them on John’s truck to go back out to the Legion.
Thank you to Donnie Walker for the donations of the Tent and the white chairs. It was unexpected. Thank you to John Walker and the great speaker system he provided for that day and being there to oversee it. Thank you to Brooks Morton and Jewel Clark for recording the event and taking live pictures. They recorded a great service and got it from so many different angles. Thank you to all our program participants: Scott Cole, Harry Orcutt, Dan Grover, Richard Farren, Eliza Barnes, Hazel Cole, Jocelyn Crockett, Lilly & Maddie Lewis, Don Feeney and the Firing Squad, Butch Fuller and those who came in Civil War period dress, members of both posts, Mundt Allen Post 81 and Jackson Silver Post 68, Don Feeney and his Firing Squad, the Bethel Fire Dept in their dress blues. I believe they got called into action that morning by the civil war monument. Thank you for helping the lady.
Thank you to the Bethel Citizen for all their support over the years. To the Bethel Inn for the use of 4 golf carts to help bring people back and forth to the area. To my brother Alan Lowe, my sister Katrina Lowe, grandson Boston Ludden and son in law Tracy Gordon for driving those carts. Neil Phelps for manning the traffic barrier and Carrie Phelps and Monica Gordon for filming and photo taking.
To Perry and Anna Ryerson for helping pick up after and all your support. I personally would like to give a shout out to Andy, Larry “Mole” and Dennis Smith for coming to this event. It was so good to see all of you and thank you for all your combined years of service you made as brothers.
