The town of Whitefield plans to resume its annual 4th of July parade this year, following a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic.

Floats and vehicles for the parade should line up northbound on Head Tide Road, just south of the intersection with East River Road, in time for a 10 a.m. start. The parade will head south on East River Road and then turn west on Pittston Road.

Food will be available during the parade, and the auction will begin immediately afterward. The Kings Mills Fire Station and Union Hall is on the south end of Townhouse Road, near the intersection with Pittston Road.

The festivities will take place in the village of Kings Mills, and in addition to the parade will include an auction of donated items and food and merchandise sales by the Kings Mills Volunteer Fire Association  and a white elephant sale by the Union Hall.

Proceeds from the KMVFA activities are used to maintain the Kings Mills Fire Station and support the municipal fire department.

Items donated for the auction can be delivered to the Kings Mills Fire Station at 904 Townhouse Road from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Sunday, July 3. Organizers are not able to pick up auction items this year, and must decline donations of large pieces of furniture.

Any donations of baked goods can be dropped off at the fire station before the parade.
