Amelia Ann (Giambattista) Richard

RUMFORD – Amelia Ann (Giambattista) Richard, 100 of Rumford, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on June 22, 2022.Born in Rumford on Nov. 28, 1921, to Carmella (Ciamacco) and Giuseppe DiGiambattista of Smith Crossing. Amelia married John Richard of Mexico on Feb. 25, 1946, and had two sons, Thomas Richard and Michael Richard.Amelia belonged to the Gorizia Lodge #467, Sons of Italy, she was a lunch lady at Rumford Elementary school for 30 years, she volunteered her cooking and time for Beano for many years. She was a communicate of the Parish of the Holy Savior of Rumford. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for her entire family.She is survived by her son Michael and wife Ann Marie of Rumford, daughter-in-law Joyce Richard of Cape Elizabeth, five grandchildren: Christina and husband Troy Michaud of Monmouth, Jennine Dyke-Payne of Rumford, Michael Richard and wife Krista of Tewksbury, Mass., Marc Richard and wife Jill of Westbrook, Paula Arsenault of Sabattus; 10 great-grandchildren: Cassandra, Meagan, Paige, Amber, Faith, Thomas, Dylan, Jayelee, Dane, Kallen; 10 great-great-grandchildren, sister Stella Glazier and many, many nieces, nephews and friends.Amelia was predeceased by her husband John and by her son Thomas Richard, three brothers, Shenny, Kitan and Tony, four sisters, Fanny, Laura, Mary and Nancy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., on Tuesday June 27, 2022, at The Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St. John’s Church, Rumford, Maine. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Rumford. Friends and family are invited to visit at Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
