BETHEL — The Telstar Rebels varsity softball team finished their 6-11 season, losing to Mountain Valley in an away playoff game by a score of 8-7. Similar to many games this season, the Rebels saw the game slip away after being tied at six in the bottom of the sixth, before Mountain Valley took the lead they would not relinquish.

Natasha Mason battled gallantly in her last varsity start, yielding nine hits while striking out five. Makenzie Eliot, Katie Evans, and Macie Hallett had multiple hits for the Rebels, while Morgan Zetts and Mason also hit safely in the tough loss.

The Rebels concluded their 2022 campaign with awards night followed by pizza. Macie Hallett (.333 avg./27 runs scored/29 stolen bases) was named as a Mountain Valley Conference First Team selection. Makenzie Eliot (.553 avg./26 hits/27 RBIs / 0 errors) and Leah Kimball (.268 avg./10 RBIs /.914 fielding percentage) were named Mountain Valley Conference Honorable Mentions.

Natasha Mason and Katie Evans were named to the all-Mountain Valley Conference Academic Team. Makenzie Eliot was named team Most Valuable Player, while Macie Hallett won the Team Hustle Award. Maylyn Hastings was named Most Impactful Newcomer and Morgan Zetts received the Best Attitude/Team Spirit Award. Natasha Mason was named Player of the Month for April while Payton Berry and Leah Kimball were named co-Players of the Month for May.
