I couldn’t sleep last Friday after watching the news. A 100-year-old New York State law had been struck down by our educated, or lack thereof, Supreme Court justices concerning concealed weapons. Now it will be legal for just about anyone to purchase a gun for concealed purposes. Evidently, the excuse is to protect yourself.
From whom? The other person carrying a weapon?
Like everything else, interpretation can be a centerpiece. My interpretation of the Second Amendment is the ability to call up a militia armed, if we are attacked.
Maybe we ought to think twice about sending our children to school, or grocery stores or churches or subways or to post offices. Do we all need to quarantine from COVID and guns?
Hunting rifles, I’m OK with.
I wonder what percentage of American people favor this law. My guess it would be low.
The National Rifle Association and gun shop owners must be dancing in the streets.
Until large corporations aren’t allowed to donate large sums of money for elections, nothing will change.
It would be interesting to know how many Congresspeople have become millionaires. My time on Earth is fairly limited now, but I’m so worried about my children and grandchildren’s future. Every great nation or society reaches a pinnacle and then declines.
It seems we are in great decline. In order to “protect” our allies, we ought to carry baseball bats. They are much safer.
It’s too bad the Supreme Court has such power.
So much for power to the people.
