Bank of America has named Brian King as the president of its Maine operation.

King, who has worked at the national bank for 25 years, will oversee its eight lines of business to consumers and companies as well as the bank’s philanthropic efforts in the state, the company announced.

King succeeds Bill Williamson, who is retiring after 40 years with the company including 10 as its president.

King graduated from Thomas College; he serves as the board chair of Junior Achievement of Maine and on the boards of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and Educate Maine. At Bank of America, he is responsible for the company’s advantage checking account product and portfolio, the bank said.

Bank of America provides funding and volunteer support to Maine programs, including providing computers and wireless internet hotspots for adult learning and financial literacy programs, according to its website.
