Kingfield Friday Artwalk set for July 15 during Festival Days

Kingfield Friday Artwalk is planned for 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 15 in Kingfield Village during Kingfield Festival Days. This year the festival is Thursday through Sunday, July 14-17.

The artwalk will feature High Peaks Artisans Guild artist of the month Cynthia-Lin Knowles and guest artist Greg Seikman, according to a news release from artwalk organizers.

Knowles was born in Freeport, Bahamas, in 1986. She exhibited talent at an early age and was encouraged to develop her natural abilities. She excelled and claimed many art awards during her primary and secondary education. She went on to major in the fine arts at the College of the Bahamas.

After 28 years in the Bahamas, Knowles had an opportunity to move to Maine, and has spent the past eight years enjoying the changing of the seasons and finding inspiration to further her passion in the art field.

Seikman is a Kingfield-raised nature photographer. His work has been shaped by the Carrabassett River, wilderness, walking trails and other natural surroundings. He also draws inspiration from Jay Maisel’s use of composition and contrast.

Other artists at High Peaks Artisans Guild include Alana Ranney photography, knitting, and jewelry; Betsy Bass photography; Catherine Hudson pottery and liquid art painting; Deborah Dubord Good Deed Tote bags and aprons; Donavan Gaston scrapbooking; Greg Thomas photography, pastels and paper collage; Greg West wood furniture and wood furnishings; John Brown; Twisted Creations — twisted style wood furniture and furnishings; Jo Eaton fiberwork knitted scenery on hats; Lisa Leavitt Freedom Felt — wool figurines; Nora West plein air watercolor and oil paintings; Patty Thomas Alpine Design — acrylic paintings on found objects such as skis, aromatherapy products; Ray and Karen Corson wood frames, cribbage boards, wooden stationary station; RJ Gray Jr. block prints and leather items; and Susan Taylor sculptural oil paintings on canvas.

A new artist at the guild, Nita Legar Casey, paints in watercolors and pastels.

Other venues include Red Barn Upcycled Market, The Maine Beer Shed and Orchard Girls Cidery, which is showing Ulrike Stadler’s paintings and Adam Masterman acrylic paintings.

Rolling Fatties is having entertainment from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with karaoke, 5 to 8 p.m. Friday during the Artwalk with Mason Strunk, and 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday with Code Martin.

Most venues will be serving light refreshments.

The next Artwalk is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 4.
